Commitment to Environmental Responsibility
At Syndus Group, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and caring for the world around us. We remain constantly aware of the potential consequences our activities may have on the environment – and we actively pursue improvements to minimise that impact.
We are taking concrete steps to lower emissions by using renewable energy and reducing overall energy consumption. In addition, we are continuously exploring ways to improve the circularity of our products, actively reducing water usage and minimising waste streams wherever possible.
The areas outlined below represent our current key sustainability priorities within Syndus Group.

Sustainable Development Goals and Syndus Group
Sustainable Development Goals and Syndus Group
The United Nations has introduced 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guiding and ambitious framework for creating a more sustainable world by 2030. In applying the ESG framework, we consistently align our efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals that are most relevant to Syndus Group.

Clean energy
Clean energy
Energy is the most significant environmental factor at Syndus Group.
This includes the energy used in our buildings, transport operations, and within our products. We are committed to improving our energy performance across all these areas. To support this ambition, we work with the CO₂ Performance Ladder—a tool that enables us to identify opportunities for improvement and make our results transparent and measurable.

Circular Economy
Circular Economy
Every business activity has an impact—and at Syndus Group, we are constantly seeking ways to reduce it. One of our current initiatives focuses on the recycling of GRE (Glass Fibre Reinforced Epoxy). GRE is already a sustainable choice thanks to its long lifespan, but we aim to take it a step further. Amerplastics and Fiberstruct are actively exploring innovative ways to recycle GRE-based products, contributing to a more circular and responsible approach to material use.
CO2 Performance Ladder
CO2 Performance Ladder
Syndus Group actively pursues a policy to reduce its CO₂ emissions. Since 2012, we have conducted an annual inventory of all energy consumption data, which we translate into CO₂ emissions—because we believe that what gets measured, gets managed. The CO₂ Performance Ladder is a leading CO₂ management system that helps companies and public organisations reduce emissions and cut costs. Syndus Group is certified at Level 3 of the CO₂ Performance Ladder.

Reducing Water Consumption
Reducing Water Consumption
At Syndus Group, only a limited number of our processes require consistent water use. Nevertheless, we are fully aware of the importance of minimising both water consumption and wastewater discharge.
To manage water responsibly and efficiently, Arentis uses collected rainwater to clean all machinery. This rainwater is stored in underground tanks, allowing us to significantly reduce the use of clean drinking water. Additionally, any water that is released—internally or externally—is treated in line with the latest environmental standards.
Minimising Waste Streams
Minimising Waste Streams
Waste management is a key part of the circular economy. Our focus lies primarily on process-related waste and end-of-life materials. Other forms of commercial waste are limited and reduced wherever possible.
All waste is collected separately whenever feasible, ensuring the highest possible quality of recycling and reuse.

Syndus Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy is structured around the ESG framework: Environmental, Social and Governance. These three dimensions are reflected in every part of our organisation.
By following widely accepted ESG criteria, we ensure that our commitment to responsible business practices is both measurable and transparent.

Environmental
Syndus Group is actively committed to minimizing the impact on the environment and the surrounding area. We are aware of the potential consequences of our activities and continuously strive for improvements that reduce this impact. The applicable laws and regulations are considered the minimum standard, on which we build further to ensure our environmental responsibility.

Social
At Syndus Group, respect for human rights and the promotion of fair and dignified working conditions are central to our way of working. We place great importance on complying with both international standards and national legislation. Because we believe in the value of making a positive contribution to society, we go beyond compliance – actively working to uphold and strengthen these principles throughout our organisation.

Governance
‘Collaboration’ and ‘Reliability’ are two of the five core values that define the identity of Syndus Group. These principles form the foundation of our governance approach – ensuring the organisation is managed in a responsible and transparent manner. Together with our stakeholders, we take ownership of our role in society by operating with integrity and contributing to a more sustainable future.
